Want to trim down your tummy? Smart move!
Besides looking and feeling good, keeping a slim waistline, protects your health:
Studies show that slimming your tummy is one of the best ways to help reduce your risk for cancer, diabetes, and heart disease.
So here we give you a handful of tips that will help you shed inches , and hopefully make you feel even more gorgeous!
Tip 1:”Eat a protein snack between lunch and dinner.
Do not miss that snack. It’s important because it boosts metabolism and balances blood sugar. The lower you keep your blood sugar, the lower you keep your insulin, and insulin makes you store fat around your middle. Eating every three to four hours will keep your blood sugar at an even level.
Tip 2: Avoid sugar.
“Eat as close to zero sugar as possible. This is another important way to keep insulin levels low and levels of glucagon high. Glucagon, a hormone “eats” fat and transform it to energy and is probably the best friend you could ever have if you want a flat belly!” Said by Jorge Cruise, author of The Belly Fat Cure, – and supported by many studies.
Tip 3: Be careful about the salt.
Use natural sea salt or kosher salt. Or fresh tomato salsa, or a dash of cayenne pepper .
Avoid traditional table salts and stay away from soya sauce!
“Salt, or rather sodium, could be the cause of making your tummy bloat. Even low-sodium soy sauce is still high in sodium and will cause practically instant bloating.
Tip 4: Chew your food more than well!
Chew food until it is like liquid in your mouth. Digestion begins in the mouth, Without proper chewing, food is not well-digested. Other good advantages: Less gas and bloating. Guess that would be good for some of you out there!
Tip 5: Put Abs exercises way down on your flat-belly list!
Myatt Murphy, author of “The Body You Want in the Time You Have” recommend the DCBA approach: Diet first, Cardio second, Building muscle third, and Abs exercises last. He says: “Follow it and you can safely lose one to two pounds a week. Spend 60 minutes a day preparing healthier meals. Spend 20 minutes a day three to five times weekly doing cardio. Spend 15 minutes a day three times a week strength training. Finally, spend 5 minutes a day three times a week doing abs exercises”. Well, for some that could be a bit overwhelming , but follow that principle, (order of importance), even if you do it in smaller chunks!
Tip 6: Control size and content of your food portions.
“Eating portion-controlled meals that include mono unsaturated fats (like avocados, olive oil, sunflower oils, nuts, seeds and whole grains) throughout the day is the best way to eat for a flat belly” says Keri Glassman, RD, author of The O2 Diet and The Snack Factor Diet : “People who eat whole grains lose more abdominal fat”.
Tip 7: A quick examples of good flat-belly menus
Breakfast: One slice of whole-wheat bread with natural peanut butter and 1 cup of berries your choice.
Lunch: Spinach salad with sliced avocado, grilled tofu, and cherry tomatoes, add a dash of olive oil and fresh lemon juice.
Dinner: Salmon (grilled), a roasted sweet potato, asparagus with olive oil and garlic.
Between-meals snack: Fat-free yogurt with a couple tablespoons sunflower seeds.
Tip 8: Be happy! Don’t worry!
“The best thing for your abs is laughing. Every time you laugh it strengthens your abs. Laugh often and laugh good! Good for body, good for belly, good for you!
